Lettuce Grow
TITLE: Eastern Oregon Educational Coordinator
HOURS: 18.75 hours per week
WAGE: $22.47 to start/ $29.34 effective July 1, 2025

For the first time in our history, we’re hiring a dedicated educator to bring our Lettuce Grow program to life in Eastern Oregon. As the Eastern Oregon Educational Coordinator, you’ll facilitate garden-based classes in correctional facilities, support greenhouse growing and seasonal planting, and serve as a vital bridge between sites, communities, and our Portland-based team. You’ll teach hands-on horticulture with Adults in Custody (AIC), deepen local partnerships, and help us grow a decentralized, justice-oriented food system from the inside out. This is a people-facing, garden-growing, barrier-breaking role for someone deeply connected to Eastern Oregon’s land and people, and committed to food justice, healing, and transformation.

Growing Gardens is seeking a passionate community organizer to support 30–40 gardeners in Portland’s Cully/Parkrose neighborhood through our Home Gardens Program. This role focuses on culturally responsive outreach, garden installation support, volunteer recruitment, and garden-based education. The ideal candidate has lived experience relevant to our work, strong communication skills, and a commitment to food justice and community empowerment. You’ll work closely with families, neighbors, and partner organizations to grow more than food—you’ll grow connections, confidence, and community health.

Greenhouse Operations Coordinator

We’re looking for a passionate greenhouse grower and systems thinker to join our team as the Greenhouse Operations Coordinator—a unique position stewarding 20,000+ plant starts in a shared 16'x90' greenhouse at the CROPS farm in Troutdale, and supporting five additional greenhouse sites across Portland. You’ll be co-supervised by Growing Gardens and Feed’em Freedom Foundation and work hands-on to build an equitable, decentralized greenhouse education model rooted in food sovereignty, climate resilience, and anti-racist community leadership. This is a dynamic and physical role ideal for someone who thrives in greenhouse environments, loves collaborative planning, and is committed to transforming food systems from the soil up.

Growing Gardens is seeking a detail-loving, community-rooted Finance Coordinator to help keep our books balanced and our mission thriving. This is a part-time, hybrid role for someone eager to grow their skills in nonprofit finance while working closely with our Business Manager and a passionate team dedicated to food justice. The position includes supporting daily financial operations—from AP/AR and grant tracking to credit card reconciliation and donor data management—while also contributing to a more inclusive and accessible approach to nonprofit finance. You'll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in a movement that connects numbers to nourishment. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to build a finance career with purpose and impact.

Growing Gardens is hiring a Youth Grow Program Director to lead our acclaimed K–5 garden education program in Portland, Oregon. We're looking for a strategic, collaborative leader with a passion for food justice, outdoor learning, and culturally relevant education. In this role, you'll oversee program direction, budgeting, fundraising, staff supervision, and community partnerships to build inclusive school garden environments where kids connect deeply to land, culture, and each other. If you believe school gardens are powerful tools for equity and transformation, we want to meet you.
